Today we had a visit from Rachel at “Zero Waste’. We learned about LITTER. We discussed just where the rubbish trucks take our rubbish bags to ….. the landfill. We have 100 landfills around NZ.
Rachel showed us a bird's nest that was made of rubbish! Yuk! This is because that is all the poor birds could see in the playground!
We then went on a litter hunt to find out what sorts of litter gets dropped in our school grounds.
Here we are going on a litter hunt to see what we could find.
Here are some photos.. we will be seeing Rachel again tomorrow.

"I liked Rachel coming into our classroom. It was fun finding the 10 cent coin. If you have scraps you can give them to the worms." From Cole.

DeleteThe birds nest didn't look nice, poor little bird. I am no longer going to use plastic bags and containers in my lunch that get thrown out. From Alana
