Today room 2 are beginning measurement. Here we are busy comparing and sorting our ginger bread families from the tallest to the shortest.

Draft Writing

Here is some writing some of the children did today. It is independent and their first copy, (this is what we call a draft copy). The children wanted to share what they learned and what happened when they saw the Ronald McDonald Road Safety Show.

We had a visit from Ronald McDonald who talked to us about road safety. He taught a song that we can remember to be safe.

Look at these great litterless lunches that were brought to school today'

Litterless Lunch box

Today we had a visit from Rachel at “Zero Waste’. We learned about LITTER. We discussed just where the rubbish trucks take our rubbish bags to  ….. the landfill. We have 100 landfills around NZ.

Rachel showed us a bird's nest that was made of rubbish! Yuk! This is because that is all the poor birds could see in the playground!

We then went on a litter hunt to find out what sorts of litter gets dropped in our school grounds.

Here we are going on a litter hunt to see what we could find.
