Kate' s lizard

Today Kate brought a lizard to school. Maisie the cat caught it and brought it inside as a special gift for her family. Kate thought she would show team 2, so she took it to school. Here is a picture of it.
Jackson thinks it looks like a dragon.
Cole said that it looks tiny and brown.
Maddi thinks it looks cute.
Gianna noticed that it likes to hide in the leaves.
Daniel thought it looks like a cuddly rectangle.
Alana and Joel think it will feel soft.
Justin says its hands and feet are tiny.
It loves climbing up the leaves says Olivia.

'At' chunk competition

We had a competition today to see which table wrote the most words using our chunk at.
The highest score was 10 words! I wonder who will have the most tomorrow? Each table worked so well as a team. What words did we write I wonder?

Oobleck Recipe

As promised the recipe:

Materials
1 cup of water
1 to 2 cups of cornflour
Mixing bowl
Food colouring (optional)

Preparation
Pour one cup of cornflour into the mixing bowl, and dip your hands into it. Can you feel how smooth the powder is? It's made up of super-fine particles.
Now pour the water in, mixing slowly as you go. Keep adding more water until the mixture becomes thick (and hardens when you tap on it). Add more cornstarch if it gets too runny, and more water if it becomes too thin.

Add a few drops of food colouring if desired. (If you want to turn your Oobleck another hue, it’s easier to add the colouring to the water before you mix it with the cornflour.)

We made Oobleck today

We read the book 'Bartholomew and the Oobleck' by Dr Seuss today.
We then made our own Oobleck!
Check out the photos:)

How did it feel when we you tapped or punched the surface of Oobleck?
What about when you dip your hand slowly into the mix, what happened?
